Abu Bakr’s group had been known by this shame so often, over such a long period of time, in so many places, in front of so many people, in so many repulsive ways, in so many fields that Bakri scholars do not make much attempt to hide it.
These cheeky disobediences range from worship to contracts, and include: adultery, sodomy, drinking alcohol and gambling [1].
One such disobedience is when Abu Bakr himself ignored the instruction of fasting during the month of Ramadhan and ignored the prohibition of drinking wine. Bakri scholars narrate:
“During one of the months of Ramadhaan after the prohibition of alcohol, Abu Bakr drank wine instead of fasting, and said a long poem parts of which are:
Is there anyone here who will tell Allah about me
That I ignored the instruction of fasting during the month of Ramadhan
And that I ignore everything that is delivered to us
Of myths and legends by Mohammad
And that the wise man saw a female donkey
So he bridled her and lost the reins [2]”.
